Room 307, Sunday Afternoon

Topher was incredibly relieved to get out of the cabin and back into his dorm. Not that his dorm was all that special, or anything -- it was nothing like his room at home, that was for sure -- but it didn't smell quite as bad as the cabin and it had a little more space. Plus he was able to set his tech down on the bed or the dresser without worrying about ants or termites or whatever other bugs were supposed to be running around in the wilderness.

He wasn't a terribly outdoorsy person, no.

So Sunday afternoon found him reaffixing the wires to his various computers that he'd brought with him to the cabins and, once that was all done, placing his dresser precariously on top of the foot of his bed with his laptop on top so that he could watch a movie while laying in bed. Sure, he could do that in the common room, but then he would have to talk to people. This was phenomenally lazy easier.

Kind of a very long shot. That movie hadn't exactly become a classic to last the ages.

"Right," Peter said, shooting him a funny look. "Sparta wasn't at the seaside, either."

Topher's grin faded somewhat when Peter didn't quite get it, but hey, maybe the classics weren't for everyone.

...He had an odd taste in cinema.

"Well, then I'm fresh out of ideas," he said, shrugging. "Some random Greek island?"

"Maybe," Peter said, then shrugged it off - physically, anyway. Mentally, he was still poking at the idea. Maybe he'd have to rope Val into writing something about Greece today, so he'd have a good excuse to get her figuring things out. "Eh, I guess we'll be somewhere else next week anyway, right? Maybe somewhere with electricity..."

"Hopefully," said Topher dryly. Then he tilted his head and reconsidered. "Or, you know, maybe not. Aren't the new kids coming next week? When I got here, it was Iceland. They should have something equally weird."

"They could do worse than Greece," Peter judged. "It's warm and it's comfortable. God, the little bastards are going to think they got unleashed on a vacation resort if we wind up sticking around."

Oh, that was true. Never mind that Topher had been one of those little bastards only a couple weeks ago. Details, details.

"They should get, like, the rain forest or something," he suggested. "Or maybe some kind of swampland."

And yeah, he would have to live in the swampland too, but that wasn't the first thing on his mind right now.

So had Peter, but Peter had never skipped an opportunity to feel superior over anyone and he wasn't about to start. "A swamp," Peter said, thoughtfully, "That would be nice. We'd have to make sure we picked up enough anti-musquito supplies first, though - while we still have the advantage."

He was a really bad person.

"Definitely," Topher agreed, leaning forward eagerly. "And when they get here and they ask why we're, you know, in a swamp, we'll just be all 'Oh, we just made sure the brochure was really touched up.' And we can act like it's always like that."

He was also a really bad person, yup.

Peter snickered. "The poor saps won't know what hit them," he said, momentarily forgetting about the whole 'trying to act like a goody-two-shoes' thing. Eh, it was just Topher, anyway. "We should get enough mosquito stuff to empty out Turtle & Canary - that'll show them."

[dollpocalypse]

"And we can sell it to them, too," Topher added, his eyes gleaming wickedly. "For, you know, a thousand bucks a pop. And only then if they're really, really nice to us."

Seemed pretty fair to him.
