Okay. The world was maybe almost over. Topher was more than a little freaked.

So out came the dice and the cape, and after making a quick annoucement, he set up at a toadstool with some character sheets for some pre-apocalyptic Dungeons and Dragons.

Kid had priorities.

"Seriously?" Jack asked. "At a time like this?"

AT LEAST HE WASN'T ASKING ABOUT THE CAPE.

"Why not? They did it on Wendy!"

Yes, Topher, but not everything that was done on Wendy the Werewolf Stalker was a great idea.

"Awww, I got stuck with a bard? How is that fair?"

Sulk more, Deadpool. That was the way to win.

And Jan got... "A fighter? Oh, c'mon!"

Natalie tilted her head.

"Where did you even get a cape right now?"

Had he brought it with him, or...?

Topher eyed her confusedly. "From... home...?"

"And it's something you thought to bring with you when the forcefield collapsed?"

Natalie was just trying to understand him. Honest.

"A half-orc barbarian," Jono intoned, furrowing his eyebrows a little. "Named... Thorgabella?"

Why the hell did he agree to this, again?

"Three intelligence!?"

"...well, yeah!"

"This isn't a television show and there aren't any vampires around here wearing giant ugly necklaces," Jack replied.

Yes, Jack knew what WTWWS was. It was hard not to know with Fargo around.

Deadpool renamed his characters has necessary. Because he had a pen and some swords if you wanted to argue the point.

And so, Dazzler the human bard and Wasp the half-Elf fighter were ready for action.

"Can I make them get drunk?" he asked as Jan lined up goldfish crackers on a toadstool. You could tell how into this game she was.

Topher had one enormously helpful thing to say there.

"Yet."

You're welcome, Jack.

There was a long, looong silence.

And then: "Why?"

"...so we could play!"

COME ON, NATALIE.

"Did part of your brain get nothing'd?" Jack asked.

That would probably explain the cape.

"...I don't get it."

Of course he didn't.

"Was that really your first though before fleeing into Special Collections?" A beat. "Why am I even asking? Of course it was."

Topher sighed and leaned over. "What's your alignment?"

"It wasn't my first thought!" Topher defended himself. "I also had to pee!"

Topher.

"Look, are you gonna play?"

"Nevermind," Jack said with a sigh. "I guess we could all do with a distraction."

"Character sheets are over there," Topher said, pointing. "Then go sit."

And don't knock the cape.

"I didn't say I was going to- Ah, hell with it.," Jack said and went over to look at the character sheets.

Can Jack be a wizard? He needs to play against type. Ooo. Even better! An illusionist! If they still have that in D&D
