Topher shifted a little in his seat, taking in the restaurant and all the people and especially the other people at his table.

Dinner. Dinner with Billy and Ben and Ender.

Well, this wasn't going to be awkward at all.

"So... do you think they have onion rings?"

"Thankfully, I haven't run into that yet." Aside from trying to get Billy to ask Topher out, but that seemed like the good kind of manipulative.

"He isn't really..." Topher shrugged helplessly. "I mean. He's still a pretty good guy."

Ender could have contested that in so many ways, but he didn't.

He just put his drink down, and signaled a waiter. "Let's just say my brother is very special and leave it at that," he suggested, "Since we've gotten way off track."

Ben nodded. "So what have you tried out while you've been here?" he asked Billy. "The rock climbing was astral."

"I've mostly been going to the beach. And shopping," Billy admitted, looking a little embarrassed. "I've been saving the active things for, you know, the people who like active stuff."

"Same," Topher chimed in. "And playing video games in the room." Because duh. "What about you guys?"

"I went to see the islands," Ender said. "It was beautiful."

Upon arrival of the waiter, he quickly listed his choices.

"I went hang gliding and hiking and rock climbing--"

Yeah, Ben was one of those active people.

"You're making me exhausted just thinking about that," Billy said, laughing before giving his order to the waiter. "I'm glad you're having fun though. I still can't believe it's a school trip, you know?"

"Seriously," Topher agreed. "And Ben, you're insane. So you know."

That kind of exercise was madness.

"A little bit," Ender agreed, as probably the second sportiest in the bunch. "But exercise can be good for you. Staying indoors is not for everyone."

"I guess I shouldn't mention that I also started every day with a run and a trip to the gym?" Ben asked.

When you're a Skywalker, running was a survival skill to avoid being eaten.

"We're on vacation. You can take a break from that stuff, you know," Billy said with a laugh.
