Spa at the Monastery, Room 2, Thursday Afternoon

In contrast to the past few days, Topher and Kenzi's room was now meticulously clean. This was because many of Topher's robots and wires and such had been thrown away and/or destroyed. KENZI.

There was, however, a fairly complex chain of wires attached to the TV, and three video game controllers set out on the floor. And there was a T-shirted Kenzi in the tub, a pajama-clad Topher who had dragged his mattress onto the floor in front of the TV, and a zombie-killing game on the screen.

Peter was sure to love this arrangement!

"Oh god, are you blushing?" Peter chortled.

Sorry, Topher. He was a horrible friend.

"Awwwwwww," Kenzi teased. Then picked up the pillow and threw it at Topher. And threw the other one back at Peter. "That is adorable!"

The pillow hit his head and Topher decided this situation could be resolved by holding it up to his face.

"NoI'mnot," he mumbled.

"What was that?" Peter asked. "I can't hear you." This time, he... managed to once again sort of not entirely successfully dodge that pillow. Stupid not being the Wiggin with the panther reflexes.

Kenzi flopped down, giggling, and dug into the food again. "Whatever. Crush all you want, Topher. Just don't get your hopes up too far." Getting crushed for a crush was no fun. She threw a banana at him. No symbolism. Nope.

"Can we just -- talk about something else? Please?"

The blush had intensified, see.

"Like Peter! And how learning to get rid of a crowd of zombies will help him in his everyday life!"

Peter rolled his eyes. "Even if I did encounter zombies, in some fluke of Fandom," he said, "The video game won't help me. The month I spent taking that class on how to fend off the zombie apocalypse on the other hand..."

"Was that any help at all?" Kenzi asked, pulling out fries now, and dipping them in ranch dressing. "I've gotten pretty good with guns now. We won't have to hide, next time." It might still be smart, but they wouldn't have to.

"But remember when I infected your room with the rock poison and you were all scared that you'd die and stuff?" Topher pointed out, gesturing to the screen energetically. "This game! Super helpful!"

"No," Peter told Topher firmly, because that was stupid logic. "And great job reminding me about that, by the way." He glanced at Kenzi. "I, on the other hand, am now a star with a shovel. The dignified man's weapon."

Kenzi hooted, and asked, "So you're okay to dig your own grave? Pfftt." She shook her head, nibbling again. "Knives, at least, man. Kate's shown me a couple things with swords, I'm gonna work my way up."

Topher's eyes went huge.

"Kate?!"

Whoooole different Kate, kid.

"You vastly underestimate the power of the shovel," Peter said. He was used to Topher's dramatic outbursts right now, so he ignored it. "Try hitting someone in the face with one next time."

"You are so going to need a bodyguard, the second you get any kind of public outfit job," Kenzi said in resignation. "I'll be interviewing them." She looked over at Topher. "Let me guess, she hit you?"

"Yes! She's not to be trusted!"

Never mind the one Kenzi was talking about was probably New Kate, who he had a whole host of other feelings about.

"You know, there's a way to create a character in this with a shovel as a weapon," he added after a second, pointing back at the screen.
