Dorm Grounds, Saturday Evening

For all the complaints that people were making about the weather, there were at least two Fandom students who seemed oblivious to the snow on this particular Saturday.

Of course, they weren’t quite aware that they were Fandom students at this particular moment, because they were far too busy battling pythons and alligators.

“What, are you stupid? Hit its jaws with the thing!” yelled Dr. Nikki Riley, gesturing to an invisible (but very menacing) alligator snapping at her cohort’s feet. At the same time, Nikki whacked a large python with what appeared to be a large woolly mammoth bone she’d found in the snow. The python hissed and slithered off.

The invisible, invisible python.

Park Ranger Terry O'Hara knew this entire mess was Riley's overly blond fault and wasn't about to let her make things worse! She had a duty to uphold. A duty to the parks. Sure, she'd given alligators some steroids, but that was all in the course of her duty!

"This is all your fault!" Terry let her know. Because it needed to be done.

"NOOOOO!" Oh, the CGI-rendered aligator was horrible! So horrible! She raised her hands to protect herself from the onslaught, but didn't do anything smart like... move out of the way.

"I'LL SAVE YOU!" Nikki yelled shrilly. Now was the time! She had to kill the alligator!

...By throwing a python at it. It didn't seem to do much but confuse the python.

"No, not the python!" She couldn't accept help from a murderous python!

"Too late now!" Nikki cried, watching the python hiss at the alligator. "Ooh, man. I think they're gonna fight! Quick, hide under this palm tree!"

...It was another pile of snow. Someone was going to wake up with frostbite tomorrow.

It was the best palm tree around, though.

Terry flung herself over to where Nikki was, watching as the snow... did nothing. But to her, it was an epic battle that defied all attempts at description.

So, we won't even try.

Deal with it.

"My god, I've never seen anything like this before."

[dollpocalypse]

"It's awful," Nikki agreed, staring in horror. "It's a shame there aren't more hunters around. What, were you stingy with the permits?"

GOD, TERRY.

"I thought you wanted to protect the animals," Terry snapped, forming a snowball finding a weapon in case those animals noticed them.

"Or are you just another useless scientist?"

"I -- am -- not -- useless!" Nikki shrieked.

She punctuated that battle cry by throwing a snowball weapon at the nearest gator, knocking it out cold. For a moment. But then the gator rose up, driven by rage, and snapped at her.

Naturally, she shrieked.

Terry did the brave thing and shoved Nikki away from the gator. Maybe with a little too much force. Because they had the rage. "Move!"

To a casual observer, it would appear that Nikki had fallen in the snow.

But not to her.

"A PYTHON'S GOT MY LEG!" she screamed. "A PYTHON'S GOT MY -- " She kicked out with her other leg, trying to get it to let go. Finally she broke free and darted behind Terry to cower recuperate from the trauma.

"This never would have happened if you'd just followed the rules!"

Damn it, Nikki. Why you gotta be a rebel?

Terry gasped in horror, shoving her down into the mud for a good ol' fashioned cat fight.

In the snow.

"You bitch!"

It was a shame Karla some people weren't watching. The cat fight in the snow thing had the potential to be very amusing.

To, you know, some people.

Meanwhile? Nikki was focusing on raking her manicured nails down Terry's face.

People who totally weren't around. And didn't have cameras.

Hopefully.

Terry shrieked with outrage, yanking on Nikki's luxurious blond hair in retaliation.

Nikki yelped and jerked sharply, inadvertently kneeing Terry in the groin.
...The very female Terry, of course.

Okay, that was oddly more painful than Terry had expected. Wanting to puke painful.

"Goddamn pythons," she muttered, curling into a ball of paaaain.

"Did one of them bite you?" Nikki pulled back, looking concerned. "Are you okay?"

"Maybe!" Terry wheezed, trying to sit up. "We have to stop them before they get out of the swamp!"

"We have to!" Nikki agreed. "Here! I'll carry you!"

And she made a valiant effort, but then collapsed.

Noodle limbs'll do that to you, Topher.

Considering who Tony generally hung out with, it was a first that he was possibly the strongest person there.

GO, HIM.

OR HER.

Terry managed to stand up, pulling Nikki with her. "We can do it!"

"WE CAN'T!" Nikki screamed, clutching Terry for dear life. "We're not gonna make it! We're gonna die here!"

"Snap out of it!" Terry demanded, going to slap some sense into her.

Nikki blinked.

"Thanks," she said. "I needed that."
