Dorm Grounds, Saturday Evening

For all the complaints that people were making about the weather, there were at least two Fandom students who seemed oblivious to the snow on this particular Saturday.

Of course, they weren’t quite aware that they were Fandom students at this particular moment, because they were far too busy battling pythons and alligators.

“What, are you stupid? Hit its jaws with the thing!” yelled Dr. Nikki Riley, gesturing to an invisible (but very menacing) alligator snapping at her cohort’s feet. At the same time, Nikki whacked a large python with what appeared to be a large woolly mammoth bone she’d found in the snow. The python hissed and slithered off.

Park Ranger Terry O'Hara knew this entire mess was Riley's overly blond fault and wasn't about to let her make things worse! She had a duty to uphold. A duty to the parks. Sure, she'd given alligators some steroids, but that was all in the course of her duty!

"This is all your fault!" Terry let her know. Because it needed to be done.

"Still your fault!" Terry said, wishing all of life's problems were simple enough to fix by feeding alligators steroid injected chickens.

"No it's not!" Nikki retorted. Because that was the smart thing to say. "It's your fault! Why'd you have to feed them those chickens!?"

"Why did you free those pythons?!" Oh snap. She had you there, Nikki.

"Because!"

Because why?

"Because they were imprisoned! They deserved to be -- "

Nikki jumped onto an invisible alligator (read: pile of snow) and squished it.

" -- free!"

Being from Wisconsin, Dave didn't mind the cold so much, even if it was unseasonable. And so he was wandering around outside when he saw his roommate and some other guy acting... strangely.

"Hi. Is everything okay?" Dave asked.

"You have to get out of here!" Terry shouted even though there was no need for it. "These glades are filled with murderous reptiles!

"No they aren't," Dave said. "Wait, glades?"

Terry gave him a look like he was simple. Because that was clearly the only explanation possible. "The Everglades!"

"RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!" Nikki screamed. "Here! Take these weapons!"

She then proceeded to pelt Dave with snowballs offer Dave some helpful weapons.

"Ow! Hey, why are you doing that?" Dave asked as he tried to hide behind his own arms. It didn't really help.

"Saving you!" Nikki insisted. "If you're going to fight them, you'll need to be armed!"

Armed and ready! This was a task for only the bravest of warriors, Dave.

Juliet was taking the scenic route to the karaoke party. It was cold, sure, but her jacket was warm and the night was kind of beautiful.

At least, it was beautiful until she came across two guys screaming about nothing in the middle of the grounds.

"... Tony?" she asked uncertainly. "What's going on?"

"Who is Tony?!" Terry was very dramatic, okay? "You have to get somewhere safe! They're everywhere!"

Look at all that snow! That dangerous snow!

"That's snow," Juliet said slowly, as sensibly as she could manage. "And you're Tony. Is this some kind of improv exercise? Am I breaking your concentration?"

"Snow? In the Everglades?" Don't be silly, Juliet.

"That's Terry!" Nikki yelled helpfully. "No time to explain! Quick, get down!"

An alligator was flying at Juliet's head!

Juliet promptly dove into a pile of snow, then raised her snowy face slowly to ask:

"Why did I do that? Who's Terry?"

"Terry!" Nikki pointed wildly at Tony. "The park ranger who's, like, terrible at her job, for the record. What kind of park ranger lets crazy wild gators and pythons run around like this?"

She brandished an arm out at the aforementioned crazy reptiles. Or, you know. Snow.

Kenzi was coming back from the Devil's Nest, and stopped to watch this epic battle.

"Go you! Get 'em!" Getting what, she wasn't sure.

"Here!" Nikki tossed her a weapon large snow-covered rock. "Defend yourself!"

Kenzi fumbled with the rock, crouching a little, and then said, "How many of them are there?" It could be invisible things! Bad things! Or... these two could be on drugs. Close call.

"We can't know for sure," Nikki hissed. "Dozens. Hundreds! And it's all her fault!"

Cue the pointing at Terry.

"Get away from here!" Terry shouted, waving Kenzi out of the dangerous, dangerous Everglades.

Kenzi held up her hands and then hopped up on a decorative rock, wondering if this was a kid's pretend-game, or what. "To where? Where's safe?"

"The city," Terry said firmly. "They haven't spread that far yet."

And she'd stop them if it was the last thing she did.
